DanceFuzion continues to go from strength to strength and is now one of the most popular and well known dance schools in the whole of Lanarkshire. The school has pupils from far and wide, and now has over 140 students.

DanceFuzion is also being regularly recognised by other bodies and performs at a number of events for North Lanarkshire Council. The school has also been asked to perform at the Theatre Royal in Glasgow and for Radio Clyde promotion days.

I am also now a Freestyle Championship Judge.

The Early Years
I started dancing at the age of ten and from there on I was hooked. I attended the John & Charlotte Comrie Dancing where I was taught Latin American, Modern Ballroom, Disco & Rock'n'Roll. I competed in competitions all over the country including "The Plaza Ballroom" and "Butlins, Ayr"(now known as Craig Tara). A few years later I also attended Miss Gallacher's Stage Dance School where I was taught Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz and Aerobics. I sat many medal tests and exams. As well as attending two dance schools I also found time to join the Airdrie & Coatbridge Operatic Society as a dancer and performed in the production of Brigadoon.

I Became A Dance Student
I was employed as a Purchase Ledger Clerkess for five years but had always dreamed of dancing professionally so in November 1995 I auditioned at The Theatre School of Dance & Drama in Edinburgh for the Three Year Professional Dance Course. I was accepted and became a dance student in January 1996. I studied Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz, Contemporary, Acting, Performance, Singing & Dance History. The course was very demanding but I loved every minute of it. I graduated in December 1998.

My Contracts as a Professional Dancer
My first contract as a Dancer/Illusionist Assistant was with the "Stars From The Old Moscow Circus" touring holiday parks and theatres in Edinburgh, Berwick, Lake District and Blackpool. Other contracts include Berwick Military Tattoo, Maltings Theatre in Berwick, Edinburgh Kings Theatre and touring with a 70s Christmas Show in hotels, leisure centres and nightclubs in the Newcastle area. During my time in Newcastle I spent my day as a Santa's Helper in the Metrocentre and by night I was a Backing Dancer!! I absolutely loved the dancing but being away from home made me quite homesick so in Dec 2000 I hung up my dancing shoes and got a full time job as a Receptionist but it wasnt long before I had itchy feet and was missing dancing like crazy. Dancing is definitely in my blood!!!

M.U.K.D.D.F
In October 2003 I gained my membership with The United Kingdom Dance & Drama Federation (U.K.D.D.F) enabling me to teach and put my pupils through Exams and Medal Tests with the U.K.D.D.F.

Romeo & Juliet
In November 2003 I also joined North Lanarkshire Adult Dance Group and danced Juliet in their Summer 2004 production of Romeo and Juliet.

My Lifelong Dream
In January 2004 I was employed by North Lanarkshire Council as a Freelance Dance Teacher which took me all over Lanarkshire. I also choreographed and directed a full show for some of the classes I taught. And finally in March 2004 I obtained my lifelong dream of opening my own school calling it "DanceFuzion".
